Coronavirus in Italy, today’s May 16 bulletin: 5,753 cases and 93 deaths


I’m 5,753 the new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday they were +6,659, here the bulletin of Saturday 15 May). Salt so at least 4,159,122 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. Today’s deaths are 93 (yesterday there were 136), for a total of 124,156 victims since February 2020. The 93 Covid victims recorded in the last 24 hours represent the lowest figure in seven months. Last October 20 there were in fact 89, while the next day 127 were registered. The people healed or discharged are altogether 3,706,084 (+ 9,603 in the last 24 hours) and 12,134 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (+13,292 yesterday). The current positives – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 328.882, equal to -3.948 compared to yesterday (- 6.776 the day before). The health system

There are 1,779 patients hospitalized in intensive care for Covid in Italy, 26 fewer than yesterday in the daily balance between entries and exits, while the daily entries, according to data from the Ministry of Health, were 60 (yesterday 63). On the other hand, 12,134 people are hospitalized in the ordinary wards, 359 less than yesterday

The rate of positivity

There are 202,573 molecular and antigenic swabs for the coronavirus carried out in the last 24 hours in Italy, according to data from the Ministry of Health. Yesterday there were 294,686 tests. The positive rate of 2.8%, stable compared to 2.2% yesterday.


The tampons

There are 202.53 tests processed between antigenic and molecular, processed in the last 24 hours, that is 92,113 less than yesterday when there were 294,686.

The vaccinated

The vaccine doses administered are over 26.8 million. The total number of people completely vaccinated (who were given the first and second doses), on the other hand, amounted to 8,370,461, that is 14.13% of the population. Meanwhile, approximately three million doses of vaccine will arrive for next week in Italy: specifically, about 2.1 million Pfizer, 200 thousand of Johnson & Johnson, 500 thousand of Astrazeneca and over 100 thousand of Moderna.
