All rumours have been put to rest as the news of Kangana playing Sita in the epic period drama ‘The Incarnation- Sita’ was announced by the filmmakers on Tuesday.

The film will be directed by Alaukik Desai and backed by producer Saloni Sharma from SS Studio. ‘The Incarnation – Sita’ has been penned by screenwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad, who also wrote Ranaut’s recent outing ‘Thalaivii’.

On his twitter handle, Desai wrote, “Universe does help those who surrender to it with belief. What was a miracle, is now clarity. A dream of a pious character never explored is now a reality. I am ecstatic to bring #KanganaRanaut on board as SITA. Thank you #SSStudio for your massive support.”

According to Sharma said Ranaut is the apt choice to play the titular character. “As a woman, I couldn’t be happier in welcoming Ms Kangana Ranaut on board our Vfx magnum opus, ‘The Incarnation Sita’. Kangana symbolizes the spirit and essence of the Indian woman – fearless, daunting and daring… It’s time we stepped in to celebrate equality in every respect,” the producer said in a statement.

Earlier, there were reports that Kareena Kapoor Khan was approached for the role of Sita but things went out of hands when the actress demanded a fee of Rs 12 crore. That’s not all, Twitterati took it as an opportunity to express its reservation toward Kareena for the role. In no time, #Boycott Kareena got trending. They made it clear that they don’t want her to play the Hindu Goddess.

Meanwhile, Ranaut, who shared the poster of ‘The Incarnation – Sita’ on her Instagram, will next be seen in ‘Dhaakad’ and ‘Tejas’, in which she will play the role of an Indian Air Force pilot.
