Manufacturers don’t want to stay away from online used vehicle sales. Five years after PSA (Stellantis since the merger with Fiat Chrysler) which had bought 70% of AramisAuto in 2016, the Renault group is embarking – slowly – on the adventure. With its financing subsidiary RCI Bank and services, the French manufacturer has announced that it has taken a stake in Mobility Trader, which operates the heycar platform created by the Germans Volkswagen and Mercedes.
A “small participation” (less than 10% in total, according to our information) obtained through a capital injection, which will allow the tricolor manufacturer to offer on the platform used vehicles in stock in all of his network. “95% of second-hand buyers get information on digital channels, and 70% start with multi-brand platforms,” explains Renault.
