The bulletin: 17,221 new cases and 487 deaths. Hospitalizations and intensive care are still decreasing. Positive rate of 4.7%

I’m 17,221 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday it was +13.708, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 3,717,602 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 487 (yesterday they were +627), for a total of 112,861 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 3,060,411 is 20,229 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (+20.927 yesterday). The positive current – subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 544.330, equal to -3.507 compared to yesterday (-7.868 the day before), down for the third consecutive day.

The swabs and the scenario

THE total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 362.162, or 22,223 more than yesterday when it was 339,939. While the rate of positivity 4.7% (the approximation of 4.755%): it means that out of 100 swabs performed, more than 4 were positive; yesterday it was 4%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.

More infections in 24 hours than yesterday, as always happens in the middle of the week. The swinging curve touches its maximum point between Thursday and Friday, but in slow descent. This decline was seen in the comparison with last Thursday (April 1) – the same day last week -, when +23,649 cases were registered with a positive rate of 6.6%. Today’s test case ratio rises to 4.7% from 4% Wednesday, but far from 6% -7%. The scenario improves. The independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation highlights this: -11.1% new cases in the period 31 March-6 April compared to the previous week. In decrease. With a clarification. The overestimated decline from the collapse of the people tested during the Easter period specifies Nino Cartabellotta, president of Gimbe. Deaths also decreased slightly over the seven days. The slippery moment – comments Roberta Siliquini, director of Hygiene at the University of Turin -. Now there are restrictions, you have to be careful for the next few weeks and vaccinate as much as possible.

The curve of the new positives on the Civil Protection site, today at the maximum point

There Lombardy the most affected by the number of new infections: +2,537 cases, thanks to over 54,000 swabs, which is the highest number of tests of the day. The health system

The pressure on hospitals is lowered for the second consecutive day. A good sign, especially important for ordinary hospitalizations that drop below 29,000, that is the peak of the first wave. THE beds occupied in intensive care (ICU) I’m -20 (yesterday -60), bringing the total of more seriously ill to 3,663. The variation in the number of beds occupied, in the critical and non-critical areas, indicates the balance between the patients who left and those who entered in the last 24 hours. In fact, i new entrances to resuscitation I’m +259 (yesterday +276).
