The French swimmers finished on the third step of the podium in the 4x100m relay at the European Championships in Budapest.

First French medal at the European Swimming Championships in Budapest (Hungary). French swimmers Marie Wattel, Charlotte Bonnet, Anouchka Martin and Assia Touati took third place in the 4x100m relay in 3’35”92, behind the Netherlands in 3’34”29 and Great Britain in 3’34 17. In the lead after the first two lengths, they lost their lead but Assia Touati, the last torchbearer, secured the podium.
The European Swimming Championships started on Monday May 17th and will end on May 23rd. The first international long-course competition for almost two years, they serve as a dress rehearsal for European swimmers before the Tokyo Olympics. They can be followed live on France 4 and france.tv.
